Planning Trial Design
Trials with REED connected to your fermentor give answers to all questions related to how much you can gain from your fermentation process. Before the trial phase, we work intensively with our customers in the Planning phase where all practical issues are addressed in order to run trials as smooth as possible.
When designing the trial plan and defining the success criteria you can draw on our extensive experience in REED and discuss your opportunities directly with our application experts. We tailor-make the REED technology to your application on the basis of your requirements.
According to your needs, we participate throughout the project phases and provide advices and technical support.
The trials in this phase are made at laboratory scale to provide Proof-of-Concept. Our lab setup is very versatile and can be assembled to with different applications of electro-membranes and connected to your fermentation processes.
The trial results obtained on your fermentations enable you to see the potential of connecting REED at a very early project stage. On the basis of a number of key performance process parameters in the trials, we are able to make initial cost estimates for industrial scale operations.
The Proof-of-concept trial results make it easy for you to take decisions for larger operations in a Pilot Evaluation.
Pilot Evaluation and Ready Rigs
After the Proof-of-Concept phase, you have the opportunity to make final process optimisation at larger scale and to produce large quantities of your fermentation product for stability and functionality testing.
The process optimisation part involves trials to optimise the fermentation conditions vs. the REED filtration conditions, and eventually find the optimal production conditions that provide maximum extra value.
For industrial scale-up purposes Jurag Separation make use of fully scalable pilot-rigs for direct implementation in customer?s process lines.
When a proper pilot design and operation setup has been established, the pilot phase provides the final answers with regard to technical and economical process feasibility.
Integration of REED technology to your production facilities requires planning and engineering to cover process aspects, plant design, regulatory aspects, etc.
We participate in this phase with substantial experience in integrating electro-membrane units into large scale processing.
