Jurag Separation will participate in the Bio-Europe partnering event in Munich from Nov 15-17 and do a company presentation on Nov 16, 2010.

 

First trials using REED for mammalian cell fermentations positive

ModiQuest (NL) has in collaboration with Jurag conducted small scale lab trials to investigate the effect of using REED in connection with mammalian cell fermentations. Initial trials performed with REED mammalian cell fermentations indicate positive yield effect from connecting REED device to lab scale fermentation. It is the intention to repeat trials on larger scale to verify results.

Jurag builds the first prototype for conducting REED trials on mammalian cells. The prototype is targeted at 1-2 liter fermentor scale and it is the intention to test this in collaboration with a partner during 2010. 

 

REED patent granted in the US

Jurag's patent: "Method and apparatus for isolation og ionic species from a liquid" has been granted in the US on April 27, 2010. With the patent being granted in the US, it has now been grated in all applied countries world-wide except for Poland, where the process is still ongoing.

 

cGMP documentation certificate for REED

New appointment

Effective as per October 1. 2009 Jurag Separation A/S has appointed Mr. Søren Pedersen as new Managing Director. Søren holds a MSc and an MBA. Søren has latest served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Upfront Chromotography. Before this, Søren worked for Novozymes in a six year period and held various senior positions in sales, key account management and product management. Søren will focus on strengthening the pipeline of projects in the application field of Jurag's advanced REED separation technology with collaboration partners from pharmaceutical manufacturing and food ingredients.
During his five years with Jurag, Dr. Heinrich Biehl reached remarkable results. In this period, the REED Technology has succeeded in obtaining significant and promising break-throughs in various industrial fields and segments.

Arne W. Schmidt new member of the Board of Directors

At an extraordinary General Meeting on December 13th, 2007, the shareholders of Jurag Separation elected Mr. Arne W. Schmidt as new member of the Board of Directors with effect from January 1st, 2008.
We are satisfied that Arne Schmidt has agreed to become part of the board allowing us to benefit from his vast experience with complex manufacturing environments as well as his extensive insights into the biotech- and biopharmaceutical industry.
Arne Schmidt has during the past three decades played an integral part in the success of Novo Nordisk A/S and Novozymes A/S. He has recently retired from Novozymes from a position as Executive Vice President with responsibility for Development, Production and Quality and will continue as a consultant for Novozymes. Arne Schmidt holds a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. More info
